About Hennis Photography

For 2 years we have been based in Missouri, providing photography for events, family and home-school portraits and commercial shots for websites and print. We were known as A Thousand Words Photography - but, in honor of my father Kenneth Hennis, we have decided to change the name to Hennis Photography. On a personal note - He was always my biggest fan and the man who taught me to dream big and believed I could accomplish anything.

And who am I, you ask?  I am Kendra de Waardt-Hennis, part-owner and photographer for Hennis Photography.  I got my start with photography at 8 years old when my father gave me my first 110 camera - a little black rectangle with an orange shutter button.  I took mostly pictures of blurry trees through the car window then - I like to think I have drastically improved.  I'm a mother to two wonderful kids, who have given me a lot of photo material over the years and when I'm not out taking photographs I work full-time in Branson.  Photography has been, and always will be, my biggest passion in life.

In addition to the work I do for you, the client, I also do a lot of personal photography.  Some of it is on my portfolio site and a good portion of it is for sell as wall art.  If you see something that you like, please let me know and I'll get you taken care of.

Our Mission:

We are here to provide professional photographs for your family in all possible stages of life and clear images for your website or printed media.  Our style is modern - you will rarely see a posed formal portrait as we do not feel they capture the real essence of who you are.  We believe in taking the time to get the right shot, while not taking up your entire day.  We put our passion for photography into every session and keep our minds open to every creative possibility.

Please be patient with us as we undergo the work of changing over all of our websites and information.

In the meantime, we can be reached by e-mail at hennisphotography@gmail.com.
